Lingering Plot Threads

• Pirate King (Sardinia)

  • Alexander’s been fighting the pirates since the 2nd book. While he’s managed to push the pirates off Venice, they’re still a very much real threat that is in no way negligible to the people of the mediterranean.

• Emperor (Nova Roma)

  • The last brush Alexander had with the Emperor was back in book 1, but that doesn’t make their relationship any more amicable. At the end of book 3, we find out the Emperor has been rallying his troops to storm some settlements to the south (Sredetes in specific).

• Patriarch (Nova Roma)

  • The Patriarch was in cahoots with the Emperor to try and bring Alexander (and the rest of his Legion) down, having failed back in the 1st book. Although the Patriarch was no longer threatening Alexander, they were still enemies with a lot of bad blood in the way of anything that might be considered neutral.

• Magic Academy (Paris)

  • One of the most immediate plot threads lingering about the story. Alexander’s made a point of wanting to enroll in the magic academy in Paris with his mage doppelganger and that will probably end happening in book 4.

• Achnimallen’s revenge against the pirates and the Lord of the Great Abyss

• The ire of the Amana

  • Achnimallen’s people will hunt whoever frees Achnimallen. This, of course, means Alexander made an enemy of some very strong people, but Achnimallen believes the Amana hold not even a fraction of the power they did in the past.

  • Still, the possibility that the Amana may choose to go after Alexander is entirely plausible, even if unlikely.

• The wearing off of the protection the gods of Alexander’s new world gave their people.

  • Achnimallen warned Alexander of a threat that was significantly more dangerous than the one they had been facing since the world changed.

  • Their gods sacrificed themselves to save them some time, but that protection is wearing off and stronger invaders, who are several fold stronger than the ones they’ve been fighting against all along, will soon come and threaten to destroy their world..

• Titan Andronicus

  • A titan who sleeps north of River’s End. Alexander needs to defeat it before he awakens and consumes every living soul within hundreds of miles in revenge for your killing of Lelydrex, the Green Dragon.

  • This plot thread, too, is incredibly important.
