Spirits can be harnessed depending on the class you have. Spirit Breaker, one of Alexander’s classes, is one of them. 

Alexander’s Spirits:

• Phase Beast

  • While not particularly powerful, this spirit beast can hide under and around someone, going completely undetected. It has powerful physical skills and some base magic that lets it evade attacks and turn invisible for short periods of time.

  • Black and smooth, almost like an insect, the Phase Beast was shaped like a large panther. It was longer than Alexander was taller and stood to his mid-chest, thick and dangerous-looking limbs complementing large teeth and claws.

  • A dangerous hunter of the underdark, capable of phasing through any material to ambush its prey.

• Mitkos the Giant King

  • Uses a 20-foot pillar as a weapon.

  • The king of the giants, this proud monster once ruled the giant race for over 1000 years before his exile.

  • In book two, as a result of Alexander’s corruption, corruption took over Mitkos and Alexander was forced to let go of him as a result, though that only happened in book 3.

• Kermodei the Guardian

  • Born from the union between a Great Bear and a kindly nature spirit, Kermodei protected his forest with all his heart until the day he fell prey to an ancient serpentfolk relic. Diseased, Kermodei destroyed that which he once loved, causing the peaceful bear great shame and torment. Now given another chance to protect others, Kermodei will do anything to shield that which he has pledged to protect, even if it means using the disease he once hated.

  • Kermodei’s body is wrapped bark thicker than Alexander’s chest and has branches weaving in and out of its fur, each one covered in beautiful flowers and healthy-looking leaves. He was easily three times Alexander’s height and incredibly strong.

  • Kermodei can absorb the deathly aura of other bears to become stronger.

• Stormhawk

  • A powerful stormhawk, capable of traveling at high speeds, commanding lightning, and briefly transforming into energy itself, shocking anything it passes through and becoming immune to physical damage.

• Gilles Alarie, the Ascendant Elementalist

  • Gilles is one of the most distinguished mages to ever graduate from the Paris schools of magic. He is a dangerous opponent, skilled in all four elemental forms of magic, as well as several more esoteric branches of the magical arts, including some that even his king may not approve of. Having pledged his service to the crown in return for one of the most powerful mage classes known in Paris, he reluctantly betrayed that oath and accepted a bargain to become a spirit companion. In return, Gilles was given a promise that he would be allowed to search unimpeded for a way to return himself back to life so he may take his revenge on the man who killed him.
